There is a little kid in me that just wants to play with clay and create characters, I have always been drawn to humour in art, and when I discovered clay there was no stopping me. Even now, I get really excited about creating a new creature; it’s stance, wit, the use of colour and line to enhance the form. The humour is important, but not at the expense of the design of the form. I realized during my degree show that I had hit on something when everything started to sell, even during a recession, and have been making stuff ever since.
